A resume is a one page, or two page max, summary of your accomplishments. The US almost exclusively uses resumes within the business world. Because a resume is so short, each position should have just a couple bullets, where each bullet is a phrase (not a complete sentence) of 1 - 2 lines.

A CV might be three pages or more and, as a result, is much more inclusive. A CV tends to be used in most of Europe, Africa and Asia. It is also used within the US for academic and research positions.
