i-D Meets: Violet Chachki

drag queen算是gay culture的一种, 《RuPaul's Drag Race》这个比赛本身把这种文化和这个群体升华了，像是一种追求自我本身的励志节目。你会觉得drag queen和artist，音乐家，作家没什么区别，只不过选择输出的载体不一样，他们选择了以变装作为这种文化的输出方式。通过这个比赛也明显能感觉到国外对于小众群体文化的尊重和追求平等，对我来说23岁的Violet Chachki算是drag文化中的先锋，就像他自己说的他代表的是drag文化的未来。

当英国先锋文化杂志i-D遇上了Violet Chachki其中有一段他说：

“I don’t really think that I had an option to hide who I was. there’s a thing called passing privilege are masculine privilege and I never had. so I kind of like came out when I was born.

sometimes I feeling more like a woman and some times I’m really more like a guy and I kind of like just float in between from day to day it changes and that’s kind of how I love.”
