【夏威夷火山喷发后下起了“宝石雨”,是真的宝石……】Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano has been fiercely erupting for five weeks. Surprisingly, residents have found small green crystals falling from the sky and appearing near lava flows this week. Those green rocks are reportedly part of the rock-forming mineral group olivine, a common mineral found in Hawaii’s lava. As the volcano erupts, it blasts apart molten lava, allowing for green olivine minerals to be separated from the rest of the melt and fall as tiny gemstones. The eruption began May 3 has destroyed hundreds of homes on Hawaii’s Big Island.
