【小天使出生仅十天 成为安徽最小的器官捐献者[悲伤][悲伤]】A 10-day-old newborn became the youngest-ever organ donor after dying on Aug. 17 in east China’s Anhui Province. The baby angel was sent to the pediatric intensive care after showing symptoms of “neonatal asphyxia,” resulting from oxygen deprivation, and hypoxic encephalopathy, which occurs when the brain is deprived of an adequate oxygen supply. After a few days of observation, a team of specialists determined that the baby had lost brain function with no possibility for improvement. Two days later, the desperate family decided to donate her organs. One of her kidneys was sent to an adult dying from uremia in central China’s Hunan Province. “Instead of making her suffer, donating her organ is a much better way to continue her life,” the father said.
