Zang Tianshuo, one of the forefathers of Chinese rock and roll, has died. He passed away on September 28 in Beijing from liver cancer at the age of 54. 中国摇滚乐先驱之一的臧天朔9月28日因肝癌去世，享年54岁。

The Beijing native is most well-known for his 1987 hit song, Friend. 这位北京人最出名的歌曲是其1987年发行的《朋友》。

Zang’s other hits include Waiting for the Day, The Great Sadness, and Prayers of the Heart. 他其他代表作有《等待那一天》、《大悲咒》、《心的祈祷》。

Zang also wrote music for films. Zhang Yimou’s Keep Cool, released in 1997, featured Zang’s song Love Until Forever. 臧天朔还曾为多部电影创作主题曲，熟知的有张艺谋导演的电影《有话好好说》主题歌《爱到永远》。
