摇滚史上的今天：1993年的今天，Nirvana纽约不插电演出录像在MTV台首次播出。乐队一共表演了14首歌，翻唱多达6首，包括The Vaselines、David Bowie、Lead Belly和Meat Puppets的歌，它更像是Kurt Cobain个人音乐喜好的一个展示。Meat Puppets的Cris和Curt兄弟俩也作为嘉宾加入了演出。

1994年11月1日，MTV Unplugged in New York现场专辑发布，在公告牌200强中排名第一，赢得了1996年格莱美最佳另类音乐专辑奖。
