Substance over Style is a quote from the videogame Cyberpunk 2077, depicting the neo-futurist approach the dystopian video games offers for its character’s fashion. Style over Substance, Necessity over Style, Substance over Style, and Style and Substance are the words used to describe the four styles unique to four starting points in the game, a determinant factor in the type of adventure you will live in.
In a digital space within the video game, creativity should be the only limit to the field of possibilities. As modern society is normalizing the digital persona more than ever, through social media and digital culture, most people know to distance themselves from their digital self.
Mixture of photogrammetry, photography and digital components, Substance over Style aims to blend and deconstruct reality through the language of fashion with the digital self everyone revisits through the medium of a video game-like visual.
