Jay Leno suffers serious burns from car fire in his garage

Comedian Jay Leno was reportedly working on a car in his garage yesterday when one of the cars unexpectedly burst into flames.

According to TMZ, flames from a gasoline fire burned the left side of Leno’s face, but luckily managed to avoid his eye or ear. Leno was rushed to the Grossman Burn Center, where he still is today. No news on his condition has emerged yet. However, Leno release a statement to Variety that, “I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire. I am ok. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet.”

All of Leno’s engagements for this week and weekend have been canceled. He was scheduled to appear at the Financial Brand Forum conference at the Aria Conference Center in Las Vegas but an email to the attendees stated, “his family was not able to provide us many details but there was a very serious medical emergency that is preventing Jay from traveling. All we know is that he is alive, so our prayers go out to him and his family tonight.”
