In a relatively simple layout of figures and settings, nine women, two young singers and a male official form a loose, single line, some with instruments at hand. Very fine lines and colors are applied to each figure, especially the slender female artists wearing the beizi, a long coat popular at upscale occasions during the Song Dynasty (960-1279).
