Today it's been 3 years since that first concert on my balcony in Milan where many things happened....
The city of Milan was completely empty and in the background the incessant noise of ambulances, day and night... it felt like living inside a horror movie.

The idea of staying at home stationary without doing anything for others was very frustrating for me…
But as a musician, one thing I could do-change the soundtrack of that movie!

So on the evening of March 13 I went out to the balcony to share some music with my neighbors.

Once I finished the neighbors were still asking for music. And without thinking too much I said "tomorrow at the same time."

The next day I woke up and my cell phone was boiling because of the thousands of notifications from social media (and you all have something to do here 🫶🏻)

My neighbor had shared a video of the concert on Weibo and this happened a couple of days later…
So many musicians accompanied me virtually, adding their instruments to part of the program, in a show of closeness and solidarity that I cannot describe in words.

So the balcony concerts became 36-each night live for neighbors and broadcast live on social media. With hundreds of thousands of people from all corners of the world logging on every day to at least for a few moments change the soundtrack of their lives.

The idea of being able to turn a bad day around to even one person in the audience has bewitched me since I was a child, and it has been the driving force behind my musical journey, which caused me to change continents at the age of 18, led me to live in 3 countries where I learned not only how to play music, but more importantly how to LISTEN.

By listening to myself, I rediscovered the pleasure of sharing, excitement and emotions. So I found a new way to continue doing what has always been my passion. And at a time when all the theaters in the world were closed, I had more audiences than in my entire life.

When you listen well yourself, it is easy to find a way, even if it seems impossible...
