兔狲广泛分布于中国西北、蒙古全境、俄罗斯南部等地区，中国拥有全球最大的兔狲分布区域，但分布地较为分散破碎。根据过往研究推测，已知最大的兔狲种群可能存在于蒙古和西伯利亚南部（注1）。
