The migrant villages near the Low Sesan 2 hydro-power station have experienced the biggest relocation in Cambodia's history. When China Huaneng built the plant, 3,690 people from 840 families were moved to three villages. The Chinese state-owned electricity company built the villages, along with facilities such as clinics, a school, and water and power supply systems, thus greatly improving the living conditions of the locals.
