Preceding the upcoming 15th BRICS summit in South Africa, China's National Energy Group and South Africa's national power company (Eskom) signed a memorandum of understanding in Johannesburg on Friday.
Per the memo, both parties will collaborate on operational efficiency, energy conservation, and pollution reduction. Their joint goal is to boost South Africa's coal energy security, in tandem with advancing wind and solar power development.
