In the "Straight Talk: Navigating the Future of China-U.S. Relations" session, Li Cheng, founding director of the Centre on Contemporary China and the World (CCCW) at the University of Hong Kong, said that it's necessary to find the causes behind the deterioration of U.S.-China relations if the two countries want to move forward together. He identifies three reasons for the current impasse: First, the United States believes that it has encountered the largest comprehensive challenge since World War II; second, the United States faces lots of domestic internal conflict hurting its development, which in turn makes the U.S. sensitive to the growth of external forces; third, the rapid rise of China's economy arouses a "sense of crisis." http://t.cn/A6lZP4dF
