The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal runs through the city, with Nanchang Street on its west bank. The street's historic houses retain the charm of a traditional water town. Recently, Nanchang Street has become Wuxi's most popular and attractive commercial area, drawing increasing numbers of visitors and consumers at night.
