每个人都有成佛的潜质，都有觉悟的本性，不应妄自菲薄。《法华经》说，常不轻菩萨见人就拜，有人不解，问他为何如此？他说：“你们都会成佛，我不敢轻视你们。”常不轻菩萨通过礼敬来唤醒众生对自己的尊重，对人身价值的认识，这是多么慈悲的胸怀！
Everyone has the potential to attain Buddhahood. Everyone has the true enlightened nature. Let’s not underestimate ourselves unduly. As described in the Lotus Sutra, the Never-Slighting Bodhisattva would bow to whomever he met. When people wondered and asked him why, he said, “I dare not slight you, for you will all become Buddhas!” By paying respect to all people, the Never-Slighting Bodhisattva tried to awaken them to self-respect and the value of life as a human being. He is compassionate indeed!
