#中国—东盟中心简讯# 【The ACC and Yangzhou Co-host the RCEP Roundtable Dialogue 中国—东盟中心与扬州联合主办RCEP圆桌对话会】

On 17 October 2024, the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), in collaboration with Yangzhou Municipal People's Government, co-hosted the ASEAN Plus Three (APT) Roundtable Dialogue on RCEP. The ACC Secretary General Shi Zhongjun, Ambassador Dato' Norman Bin Muhamad of Malaysia to China, Ambassador Maubere Lorosae Da Silva Horta of Timor Leste to China, Secretary Wang Jinjian of CPC Yangzhou Municipal Committee and Deputy Secretary General Zushi Shuji of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) attended and addressed the Dialogue. Over 80 participants including diplomats, scholars and business delegates from the RCEP member states including Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, China, Japan and the Republic of Korea (ROK) were present.
2024年10月17日，中国—东盟中心同江苏省扬州市人民政府共同主办“东盟—中日韩区域全面经济伙伴关系协定（RCEP）圆桌对话会”。中国—东盟中心秘书长史忠俊大使、马来西亚驻华大使诺曼、东帝汶驻华大使罗瑞、扬州市委书记王进健、中日韩合作秘书处副秘书长图师执二等出席对话会。来自老挝、马来西亚、缅甸、菲律宾、新加坡、泰国、中国、日本、韩国等RCEP成员国驻华使领馆、专家学者、商协会及企业各界代表80余人与会。

Shi Zhongjun stated that as the new engine to Asian economic integration, the full implementation of RCEP has unleashed great potential of regional market and played an important role in improving the policy environment, strengthening the resilience of supply and industrial chains, and enhancing regional connectivity. The APT countries should join hands to introduce operable measures to promote the implementation of RCEP, enhance effective interaction among governments, trade and investment promotion agencies and enterprises, and capitalize on the trend of technological progress so as to bring the regional integration to new heights.
史忠俊表示，作为亚洲经济一体化新引擎，RCEP全面实施进一步释放区域大市场无限潜力，对改善政策环境、强化产供链韧性、促进互联互通发挥了重要作用。东盟国家同中日韩三国应在RCEP落实安排层面加强合作，加强政府、贸易投资促进机构和企业间紧密高效联动，把握科技发展时代脉搏，推动区域经贸融合取得新成就。

Wang Jinjian introduced Yangzhou's engagement in RCEP cooperation and its competitive edges, and looked forward to further strengthening industrial exchanges, pursuing more mutually beneficial cooperation in the fields of trade and investment, and deepening understanding and friendship with the related countries.
王进健详细介绍扬州参与RCEP合作情况及比较优势，表示愿同域内各国继续加强产业交流，开展更多互利共赢的经贸合作，增进双方相互了解，带动双方贸易投资。

Ambassador Dato' Norman Bin Muhamad underlined that the full implementation of RCEP has promoted the reshaping of regional value chains, expecting Malaysia to attract more high value-added industries. Ambassador Maubere Lorosae Da Silva Horta stated that RCEP has not only promoted more frequent economic interaction among the regional parties, but also provided a quality platform for dialogue and exchanges. DSG Zushi Shuji spoke highly of the important role played by RCEP in promoting regional economic integration. He hoped that all member states could seize this opportunity to secure tangible benefits.
诺曼强调RCEP全面实施有力推动区域价值链重组，期待更多高附加值产业在马落地。罗瑞表示RCEP不仅促进域内各国经济高频联动，也为对话交流搭建优质平台。图师执二高度评价RCEP对促进区域经济一体化的重要作用，希望各成员国充分抓住RCEP机遇，造福本地区国家和人民。

The invited diplomats, scholars and business delegates shared their views on the significance of RCEP to the economic development of their respective countries and the whole region at large. The Dialogue came to the consensus that the full implementation of RCEP stands out as a positive factor to business development for its signing members. All parties should stay committed to maintaining an open, inclusive and rules-based environment for global trade and investment, further open up markets and help enterprises make full use of the RCEP rules and regulations, so that the dividends of RCEP will truly benefit the long-term development of business communities and countries in the region.
对话会上，来自RCEP各成员国政府部门、驻华使馆、在华商协会及企业代表先后介绍了RCEP对本国和地区经济发展的重要意义，一致认为RCEP全面实施是各成员国企业发展重大利好，应继续维持开放、包容和以规则为基础的全球贸易投资环境，致力进一步开放市场，帮助企业充分利用好RCEP，使RCEP红利真正惠及域内工商界和国家长远发展。

During their stay in Yangzhou, delegates visited major enterprises in Yangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, and held discussions with Yangzhou government agencies on how to bring into fully play Yangzhou's industrial advantages and strengthen economic cooperation and trade in the foreseeable future
在扬期间，与会代表还应邀参访扬州市经济技术开发区内同RCEP国家有合作的重点企业，并同地方有关部门召开恳谈会，就更好发挥扬州产业优势、加强同域内国家经贸合作深入交换意见。

On the afternoon of 16 October, Secretary Wang Jinjian held a meeting with the leadership of international organizations, and the representatives of diplomats, representatives of the chambers of commerce and enterprises from RCEP countries, for an in-depth exchange of views on deepening cooperation in various fields and seeking win-win results.
16日下午，扬州市委书记王进健会见与会国际组织负责人、驻华使节、RCEP成员国在华企业及商协会代表，就密切友好交往、加强经贸合作、共促合作共赢展开交流。
