Last week, multitalented composer Joe Hisaishi conducted the world premiere of his enchanting Harp Concerto, written specially for LA Phil principal harpist Emmanuel Ceysson. With his signature eye-catching harp, Ceysson showcased all the fun rhythms and vibrant colors (not just red!) of the new piece.

Hisaishi also conducted his Adagio for Strings and Two Harps, plus Mussorgsky’s ever-popular “Pictures at an Exhibition” orchestrated by Ravel. To say we were amazed would be an understatement!
