#克观国际# Merriam-Webster dates the term “86” to the 1930s and says it was slang at soda counters for items that were sold out. The term has since been used in the hospitality industry and means to refuse service to someone who is already drunk.
However, 86 can be used to mean “to kill”, Merriam-Webster says, though it adds a disclaimer online. “We do not enter this sense, due to its relative recency and sparseness of use,” it says.
