狮子经常被视为躺平的典范，但（残酷的）事实好像是狮子也免不了为生活奔波。2006年Hayward, MW和Hayward, GJ发表的一篇论文，报告了在Addo大象国家公园（Addo Elephant National Park）狮子的活动模式。狮子平均每天有41%的时间在活动，有一只雌狮的活动时间甚至达到了54%。他们特意指出，狮子每天花22小时睡觉是一个常见的误解。在津巴布韦对野化的圈养狮子进行的观察，甚至发现狮子每天的休息时间平均占61%。

总之狮子虽然不怎么牛马，但也不像花山熏想的那么无所事事。
