From roadie to bodyguard: George was a roadie for Ronson's band The Rats in Hull before Bowie and his management team visited to recruit Ronson. During the visit, Ronson introduced George to Bowie, who later hired him to move to London.
Protecting Bowie from fans: George was brought on as a bodyguard as Bowie's fame grew and the crowds became more unruly. He was known for stepping in to protect Bowie from aggressive and over-exuberant fans during the Ziggy Stardust tours.
In 2016, following Bowie's death, George recounted several stories about his time with the singer, including claims of a drug-fueled threesome with Bowie and Mick Jagger.
