Momone Sano, Age 12, from MOMO Ballet Studio (Japan) performs Variation from Classical Pas De Deux Adam at the YGP 2026 Japan Semi-Final where she won 2nd Place in the Junior Age Division!
"This is from an old 1940s production of Giselle created by Leonid Lavrovsky and Sofia Golovkina for the Bolshoi. This version hasn’t been used in a long, long time, so the choreography mainly lives on through school performances and galas in Russia. It’s hard to find information though, probably because no one can agree on the name; I’ve seen it referred to as the Lavrovsky pas de deux, the Classic PDD, the Grand PDD, the Minkus PDD, etc.
