Throughout life, we’re constantly urged to seek meaning — in work, in studies, in marriage, through parents and children. Everyone emphasizes purpose.
But now I’ve stopped chasing meaning. I’ve come to love useless things, idle pleasures. I see money and possessions not as ends in themselves, but as means to freedom — the freedom to choose whom to love, and how to love myself.
By embracing life with all my energy, beauty naturally finds its way into my days. It offers gentle, positive reminders. So what, then, is the meaning of life?
Answer: Anything that brings you joy — that is meaning enough.
