咏粉妆玉蝶梅
冰心一片出尘时。
寒雪堆中绽细枝，
照影疏英生净几，
虬干擎玉坐禅池
不求春色客相顾，
但证孤贞自可期。
待到劫消融霁处，
暗香浮动月迟迟。

Ode to the Pink-jade Butterfly Plum

A heart of ice emerges pure beyond the mortal world,
Slender branches bloom amid the heaped cold snow,
Sparse blossoms cast their shadows on a clean table stand,
Twisted trunk holds jade, sitting by a Zen pool.
It seeks no springtime scenery nor visitors' gaze,
Content to prove its lonely faith, its own reward to know.
When the trial melts and clearing skies appear,
Subtle fragrance drifts with the slowly rising moon.
