At the start of the new year, the China Western Racecourse in Sandu Shui Autonomous County, Qiannan Prefecture of Guizhou Province, comes alive with excitement. More than 200 jockeys and nearly 300 horses from across China—including Yunnan, Hebei, Shandong, Shanxi, and Guizhou—gather here to compete, as thundering hoofbeats and swirling dust fill the air.
