This was one of the first reports flagging pressure in the glass fabric supply chain. It doesn’t feel that long ago, but the situation has clearly accelerated since then.

We’re still in the early stages — but the direction of travel is obvious.

In EMEA and the USA, distribution inventory has masked the real impact so far. But I’m hearing some third-party distributors in Europe may have missed the signals. Without upstream visibility, orders to replenish CCL and prepreg were placed late — only to find lead-times stretching, availability tightening and 2026 allocations already being imposed.

Add in any ongoing disruption in air and sea logistics from the Iran conflict, and some distributors could soon be having some awkward conversations with long-standing customers.

Understanding what’s happening upstream in raw materials is becoming critical. Without that visibility, you’re reacting to shortages rather than planning for them.
