跟同学吐槽中文难学~~

Chinese is extremely hard to learn. It might be one of the hardest languages in the world[并不简单].

I’m a native speaker, and I still feel like I haven’t fully mastered it. If you give me an article written 200 years ago, I can recognize most of the characters, but I still don’t really understand what it means. That’s because Chinese has modern Chinese（现代汉语） and classical Chinese（古汉语）, basically two different systems.

And it doesn’t stop there. We also have simplified characters（简体汉字） and traditional characters（繁体汉字）. I only learned simplified Chinese, so when I see traditional characters, I can barely read them.

In English, pronunciation is connected to letters. When you see a word, you can usually try to sound it out. But in Chinese, the written form and pronunciation are not always directly connected. You have to memorize the character shape（字形） and the pronunciation（发音） separately（分开）.

On top of that, one single character can have many different meanings depending on the context.

So yeah… Chinese is not easy at all~~
