#两会·她声音# During the fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, Xu Yao, an NPC deputy and Party (Communist Party of China) Secretary of Xiaodang Village, in Haizhou, a district in Lianyungang, a city in east China's Jiangsu Province, focused on how to improve the elder-care-service system and provide more accessible, high-quality services to rural elderly people. She suggested governments at all levels provide more support to the construction and operation of village-level, elder-care-service facilities. To improve medical services for rural elderly residents, Xu suggested town-level hospitals and village-level, elder-care stations should build an agreement-based cooperation mechanism to provide regular medical- and health-management services in villages.
