It’s mad because I’ve spoken to Cristiano about this. I said, "Some people say you've had to work harder at it, and people appreciate and respect that more." He takes that as an insult, by the way. He’s like, "Whoa, whoa, whoa, bro, you can't be me without the ability."
In one way, what he’s saying is completely right. He’s saying, "Don’t try and make me out to be just a 'worker,' because I ain't that. I do work hard, there’s no stone left unturned. I do everything to be the best, but you cannot do what I do with a little bit of ability."

That competitiveness gives him the edge. Even when we played, in the same team and dressing room, there were arguments most days. It was just about who’s right and who’s wrong—he had to be right. He could not be wrong. He just has to be right all the time. If we played table tennis or "two-touch" as warm-ups and he lost, his head would just fly off. He was just competitive all the time, but he was great for the changing room energy.
