【美国“乒乓外交”亲历者寄语中美青年：愿小球续写两国友谊新篇章】今年是中美“乒乓外交”55周年。应中国人民对外友好协会邀请，1971年亲历“乒乓外交”的美国运动员朱迪・霍夫罗斯（Judy Hoarfrost）再度访华，并登上居庸关长城，感受中国著名历史文化地标。在接受CGTN记者许雅雯采访时，朱迪表示，她从未想到乒乓球能成为中美友谊跨越半世纪的象征，也对自己能成为这段珍贵历史的一部分深感荣幸。她寄语中美两国青年：要敞开心扉、加强交流、互学互鉴，才能携手应对全球性挑战。她希望“乒乓外交”的精神能在新一代年轻人中传承下去。This year marks the 55th anniversary of the historic China-U.S. “Ping-Pong Diplomacy.” At the invitation of the Chinese People's Association of Friendship with Foreign Countries, Judy Hoarfrost, a member of the 1971 U.S. Table Tennis team to China, has returned to China and visited the Juyongguan Great Wall to experience one of China’s iconic historical and cultural sites. Judy told CGTN Radio reporter Xu Yawen that she never expected the small ball would become a symbol of China-U.S. friendship for 55 years, and felt honored to be part of this precious legacy.
