三星堆博物馆于1992年8月奠基，1997年10月落成开放，馆区占地面积约530亩，是全国重点文物保护单位及首批国家“AAAA”级旅游景区，位于三星堆遗址东北角，地处历史文化名城四川省广汉市城西鸭子河畔，南距省会成都40公里，北距德阳26公里，是中国一座现代化的专题性遗址博物馆。三星堆博物馆集文物收藏保护、学术研究和社会教育多种职能于一体，采用现代化科学手段实施管理，集中收藏和展示三星堆遗址及遗址内一、二号商代祭祀坑出土的青铜器、玉石器、金器以及陶器、骨器等千余件珍贵文物。2024年3月，被授予2023年度全国三八红旗集体称号。

Groundbroken in August 1992 and officially opened to the public in October 1997, the Sanxingdui Museum covers an area of approximately 353,000 square meters (35.3 hectares). It is a nationally protected cultural heritage site and one of China's first AAAA-rated tourist attractions. Located in Guanghan, Sichuan Province, the museum sits at the northeastern corner of the Sanxingdui archaeological site, along the Yazi River, 40 km south of Chengdu and 26 km north of Deyang. As a modern, specialized archaeological site museum in China, it integrates the functions of cultural relic collection and preservation, academic research and social education, adopting modern scientific methods of management. The museum houses a collection of over 1,000 precious cultural relics unearthed from the Sanxingdui Archaeological Site and the No. 1 and No. 2 Shang Dynasty sacrificial pits there, including bronzes, jades, gold artifacts, potteries and bone artifacts. In March 2024, it was awarded the honorary title of the 2023 National March 8th Red Banner Collective.
