Simple Math
Xixi's words yesterday made me realize that a lot of people either don't know, or keep forgetting, what being a fan is actually about. So, as a very self-centered person, let me break it down from my point of view.
I became a fan because I love what XiZhao created. Not just “oh, that's nice” love. I mean real love. I love the series they made. I believe in their characters and in the feelings they tried to convey. I love the story, the character development, the tension, the emotions, and every step those characters take. Honestly, I could easily write a 3000-word essay just about how perfect the colors in the series are.
And it doesn't stop there. I love the content they create outside the series too. The lives, the songs, the videos, the photos. All of it makes me happy.
Now comes the selfish part. If something gives me that much joy, of course I want to protect it. Of course I want to make sure it stays in my life as long as possible. So I do my part. I watch the lives. I buy the products they promote. I post photos and videos. I share XiZhao content on international platforms so fans outside China can also see it. I try to trend topics and help more people discover them.
Why? Because I want them to grow. I want them to become more popular, more stable, and more successful, so they can keep creating the content that makes me happy.
So yes, it is selfish. I invest my time and support, and in return I get more of the work that I love. That is the deal. That is the fan math.
