Leehsienloong Back from my China trip.

On the last day in Shanghai, I took a #jalanjalan at 1000 Trees. Was impressed by the harmonious integration of nature and architecture, with a tree-covered concrete mountain rising alongside the Suzhou Creek.

Also walked past some street art on my way to M50 Creative Park. This contemporary arts district, on the former site of a textile factory, repurposes 41,000 square metres of industrial buildings dating from the 1930s to the 1990s. It shows how continuous planning and renewal can rejuvenate urban spaces while preserving heritage.

There were many takeaways from my visit to Guangxi and Shanghai. I look forward to deepening Singapore-China relations, as we mark 36 years of diplomatic relations this year. – LHL
