We were honored to receive an invitation from the Chinese Ambassador to Japan to visit the Chinese Embassy together as a team. We were even treated to dinner, and the time we spent with the Ambassador and his wife, as well as Minister-Counselor Chen from the Cultural Department, was truly enjoyable and meaningful. Our entire team would like to express our sincere gratitude. Thank you very much. Sharing so many laughs over dinner was absolutely the best 🇯🇵🇨🇳

Our team is made up of people from different nationalities. Considering the current relationship between the two countries, we are often asked, “How is that even possible?” or “How can a team like that make it all the way to the Olympics?”

But I believe that if you want to achieve something meaningful or pursue a greater purpose, you have to be willing to go beyond the walls of “common sense.”

Many people may imagine that dining with figures from China’s political world would feel intimidating or tense. But in reality, everyone was incredibly warm, open‑minded, and full of humor. They were genuinely fun people to spend time with.

Through these kinds of exchanges, I continue to gain new perspectives and valuable insights. And once again, I strongly feel that sports — and snowboarding in particular — have the power to connect people, and even connect nations.

在日中国大使より中国大使館へご招待いただき、今回、我々チームで訪問させていただきました。今回は夕食までご馳走になり、大使ご夫妻、そして文化部参事官の陳さんとの交流は、本当に楽しく貴重な時間となりました。我々チーム一同、心より感謝申し上げます。ありがとうございました。爆笑しながらの会食は最高でした😊🙏

我々のチームは、国籍を越えて集まったチームです。今の2国間の関係性を考えると、「そんなこと本当にできるの？」「しかも、その形でオリンピックにまで出場するなんて、どうやっているんだ？」とよく聞かれます。

でも、自分は、大きな志や大義を成し遂げるには、“常識”という壁を越えていかなければならないのではないかと思っています。

中国の政界の方々との会食というと、「怖そう」「緊張しそう」といったイメージを持たれる方も多いと思います。しかし実際は、皆さまとても気さくで、冗談も通じる、本当に楽しい方ばかりなんです。

こうした交流の中で、自分自身もたくさんの学びや気づきをいただいています。そして改めて、スポーツ、そしてスノーボードには、人と人、国と国をつなぐ力があるのだと強く感じています。
