SMT Line = Surface Mount Technology Line
*In simple terms*
It's the entire production line where small electronic components are placed on an empty PCB to create a finished PCB. Motherboards for mobile phones, TVs, and laptops are made on this line.
*Process in 1 line*
Empty PCB → Apply solder paste → Place components → Heat to attach → Inspect→ Pack
*5 Main Machines of an SMT Line*
1. *Printer*: Prints solder paste onto the PCB
2. *Mounter*: Like a robot, picks up ICs, resistors, etc., and places them on the PCB
3. *Reflow Oven*: An oven. Heats the PCB to 250°C to firmly attach components
4. *AOI* (Automated Optical Inspection): A camera-equipped machine. Catches errors
5. *Loader/Unloader*: Moves PCBs in and out of the line
*Line Environment*: 24°C Temp, 50% Humidity, a clean, air-conditioned space. Must wear an ESD strap to prevent static discharge.
