The Sun and The Earth
I want to shield all of you,
to reciprocate your forgiving tenderness.
To stay right by your side for my whole life —
that’s my dream of dawn glow and dusk haze.
Fleeting as sparks, fading within my embrace,
I dash toward the starry sky, yet can’t reach the place deep in my heart.
What reason could there be to force me to let go?
Who would ask for our hearts to be as distant as the Sun and the Earth?
How could we reach the end? You love me, yet you do not belong to me.
Who would ask for time to rush onward, leaving only light to shine, no touch to share?
We drew so near — how did we spin and spin, only to miss each other?
Amid the vast Milky Way,
I never imagined we’d cross paths like shooting stars.
How can I forgive the one who made you cry — that one is me.
Sorry I never got the chance to say.
My most fervent dream is you waiting for me,
blazing bright across the starry sky, then dissolving deep inside me.
The one etched deepest in my memory is the one I lost, eternally.
Who would ask for our hearts to be as distant as the Sun and the Earth?
How could we reach the end? You love me, yet you do not belong to me.
Who would ask for time to rush onward, leaving only light to shine, no touch to share?
We drew so near — how did we spin and spin, each wandering our separate ways?
One has to ache deeply to know what I truly want.
I hate to see you lose your joy.
If sorrow comes, please leave it all to me.
It turns out our hearts are stubborn, just like the Sun and the Earth.
We thought we’d split completely, let go fully, yet we never truly left each other.
We merely missed our chance; neither was at fault, we both loved with all we had.
The furthest version of us — don’t look back, keep walking toward happiness.
