【Economic Policy and Sustainable Development in Sub-Saharan Africa: The Roles of Financial Access, Green Technology, and Trade Openness】

As the global world passes the midpoint of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, there is concern about the ability of many African economies to reach major sustainable development targets. Against this backdrop, the role of economic policy has attracted increasing scholarly and policy attention. This study examines how components of the economic policy mix relate to sustainable development in selected Sub-Saharan African (SSA) economies using annual panel data for five selected SSA economies from 2005 to 2020, and considers the roles of fiscal policy, monetary policy, and environmental conditions, alongside the mediating effects of access to credit and green technology and the moderating role of trade openness.
