7月3日以来，受台风“美莎克”影响，广西出现持续性强降雨，部分地区发生严重洪涝灾害。预计7月6日至8日，广西强降雨仍将持续，防汛抗洪形势严峻复杂。国家防总决定于7月6日10时30分将针对广西的防汛防台风四级应急响应调整为防汛三级应急响应。
