⚡️ Ever wondered what’s actually happening inside a transformer? ⚡️
It’s one of the most fundamental components of our modern electrical grid, yet its operation can feel like magic.
Here is a quick breakdown of how standard Transformers work:
1️⃣ The Input (Primary Coil): An Alternating Current (AC) voltage passes through the primary coil. Because the current is alternating, it creates a constantly changing magnetic field.
2️⃣ The Bridge (Iron Core): This changing magnetic field is guided through a shared iron core, creating a changing magnetic flux.
3️⃣ The Output (Secondary Coil): As that changing flux passes through the secondary coil, it induces a voltage (thanks to Faraday’s Law of Induction).
If the secondary coil has more turns than the primary, the voltage steps up. Fewer turns? It steps down.
No moving parts. No direct electrical connection between the two coils. Just pure electromagnetic physics keeping the lights on.
