“Music is magic, man. One day in 5th grade, I was like “I think I like music enough to join the school band” and now I get to travel the world making music.

My friend maxdupontmitchell tapped me to music direct Chinese pop star Kun’s concerts in Macau, China. He had assembled an uber talented band of musicians but asked me to be onsite to help put it all together. My imposter syndrome kicked in immediately upon recognizing the amount of talent in the band. Most of us met for the first time at our first rehearsal but by the end of the almost 2 weeks of prep, shows and navigating the differences in work cultures became good homies. The process getting into China was tough, the rehearsal hours with an integrated Chinese team were long and the shows were intricate but beautiful.

I can’t really put into words how rewarding and educational this experience was. But suffice to say, thank you to all involved. My heart is full.”
