9/11 25年了。今天好多新闻都在回忆Gander，纽芬兰的一个小镇，9/11那天接收了38架飞机，人口在几个小时内就增加了近一倍。之后几天，小镇全员敞开家门，为滞留的乘客（"plane people") 提供物质和精神上的帮助。之前从来没听说过这个小镇的乘客被当地人的热情淳朴深深感染。 "if you have to be stranded anywhere in the world, you landed in the right place." 后来有人制作了一部音乐剧， Come from Away, 就是基于这段经历。

25年之后，美加关系接近冰点。不过，如果7000多名"plane people"突然从天而降，Gander仍然会张开双手，无条件地提供帮助。这是东海岸人的善良本性。“There is still a place in the world where people are still decent to each other, and respect each other.”
