Half a life spent adrift, and looking back, I find that the mountains which once confined me have become distant scenery, and the tides that once kept me awake are now little more than water brushing against my sleeve.

If the world must one day fall silent, if every road I have walked must eventually disappear beneath the sands of time, then so be it.

I no longer hurry towards a destination, nor do I seek to prove myself to the world. If storms await me, I shall walk beneath them; if the world stretches wide and empty, I shall ride beneath the open sky and sing.

Life is but a journey lent to us by the universe. Let me, then, arrive with wonder and depart without regret.

The mountains need not wait for me, and the years need not be kind.

I have my own seas to cross, my own seasons to call home.

Let the world go on turning, and all things come and go as they must.

The world is vast, all things are free.

And so am I.
