Japanese writer Yasushige Hanaika has spent years recording the confessions of former Imperial Japanese soldiers who committed atrocities in China and has published multiple books on the subject. In an exclusive CGTN interview, he said Japan has never truly reflected on its WWII aggression. Instead, it leans too much on the US for safety – and that's not real security.
