What does inclusion look like? For Dr. Marissa Floro, creating space for queer people in your yoga classes takes intention and care.
Dr. Floro is a licensed psychologist, Registered Yoga Teacher through YogaX's yoga teacher training, and the Director at Stanford University’s Weiland Health Initiative. These different identities and roles are more connected than you might expect: As a yoga practitioner and teacher, Dr. Floro has learned to "diversify the ways that one can connect to the body, breath, and somatic experiences," she told us recently. "I invite (my therapy) clients to navigate difficult experiences, feel more embodied, understand their internal world, and connect with their sense of self as they explore their identities."
