#小麦学艺记##二十四节令鼓融合了广东舞狮鼓##广东非遗的海外踪迹# 【Learn from Masters · Apprentice Mai's Overseas Journey Ep. 3 | 24 Festive Drums: Drumbeats across the seas】A striking 24 Festive Drums performance at the opening ceremony of the 15th National Games caught the audience's attention. Few may realize that the 24 Festive Drums trace their roots to Guangdong lion drums.

Created by Malaysian Chinese who blended the 24 Solar Terms with Chinese calligraphic inscriptions, the tradition later crossed the seas to China, where it has won widespread popularity and become a key symbol of overseas Chinese creatively inheriting Chinese culture.

Recently, Guangzhou Daily reporter Mai visited Jinan University in Guangzhou to hear Tan Chai Puan, founder of the 24 Festive Drums, and Malaysian Chinese coach Son John Waey share the story of how this tradition is passed down.

She also carried a pair of drumsticks as a token and traveled to Malaysia, the birthplace of the 24 Festive Drums, to practice drumming techniques with Coach Quah Beng Chye.
