The Maronite nation builds its strategic relationships in the region according to its understanding of itself, its history, and the history of the peoples of this region.
We do not choose our allies simply because circumstances force us to take certain positions. Nor do we enter into agreements that contradict our own security and our continuity in the Eastern Mediterranean.
We see in Israel, Greece, and Cyprus the peoples closest to us, and we extend our hand for cooperation with them. We also ask them that the time has come to distinguish Mount Lebanon from the ruling regime in Beirut, and to distinguish the people of Mount Lebanon from those who hold the citizenship of what is called the Lebanese Republic.
And to Israel in particular we say. If you seek temporary peace, knock on the doors of the regime in Beirut. But if you seek an ally that resembles you, then help us and help convince the world to recognize the independence of the Maronite nation.
