MV导演鲍勃·吉拉尔迪透露：MJ把邀请真的帮派成员参演的想法跟他一说，他觉得做不到：“我咋找人呢？举着‘Crips、Bloods，你们想演迈克尔的MV吗？’的牌子走进东洛杉矶他们的地盘？”MJ：“我来找帮派的人，我来找他们。如果我找到了，你拍吗？”吉拉尔迪：“当然可以，只要现场有足够的警察，我没问题。”然后MJ找来了人。

拍摄在东洛杉矶的一间仓库里进行。拍摄第一天，到了快晚上的时候，当“群演”的帮派成员有点不耐烦了，冲突摩擦出现，一名Crips的人被Bloods的人打倒。警察们紧张起来，过来跟吉拉尔迪说：得收手了，别拍了。吉拉尔迪决定把原定第二天拍摄的MV结尾的群舞重头戏移到现在、当场开始拍，这样第二天就不需要帮派成员再回来。警察答应了，但只给一条拍摄机会。
