印度驻华大使魏嘉盟今日在广州到访华林寺，会见光明大和尚。

华林寺由印度高僧菩提达摩（达摩）创建。达摩是印度佛教第二十八代祖师、中国禅宗初祖。公元6世纪，达摩从印度南部渡海来到广东，在此居住多年，后前往魏国，最终到达少林寺。

达摩的传奇足迹，至今仍是联结中印两大文明的绵延纽带。

In Guangzhou today, Ambassador Vikram Doraiswami visited Hualin Temple and met Venerable Master Guangming, Abbot of Hualin.

The temple was set up by the Indian monk Bodhidharma (Damo), 28th Patriarch of Indian Buddhism & 1st Patriarch of Chan (Zen) Buddhism, who sailed from South India to Guangdong in the 6th century CE. He lived in Guangdong for several years before proceeding to the Wei Kingdom and eventually to Shaolin Temple.

His legacy remains a lasting thread linking our two civilisations.
